Vision

APAICS aims to contribute to the building of an active and engaged citizenry, thereby strengthening America's democratic process, by building the pipeline and increasing the presence of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders in elected office, government service, and community involvement.

Goals

1. 1.Asian Americans are the fastest growing population in America yet we are also the most underrepresented in government. We have the fewest congressional members and elected officials at the state and local level. We must continue to create pathways for AAPIs to understand the importance of government service -- either as an elected or as a civil servant -- and to help guide them along their path.
2. 2.Our organization is 30 years old but we are still relatively new relative to organizations doing similar work in the African American and Hispanic communities. We have made strides in growing our revenue and the programs we offer but need to invest in our capacity to execute and grow our programs with thought and precision. We should create pathways for entry level staff to grow with us.
