Scouting America National Capital Area Council

Mission

The mission of the Scouting America organization is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The National Capital Area Council (NCAC), established in 1910, works to accomplish the mission of Scouting America in such an exemplary manner as to be recognized by our public as the premier youth organization in the communities we serve and by other councils and NACA as second to none in all our endeavors. The NCAC is a class 100 council, (one of the largest) and is geographically comprised of ten counties in Northern Virginia, six counties in Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

Vision

Our vision for the National Capital Area Council is to accomplish the mission of the Boy Scouts of America in such an exemplary manner as to be recognized by our public as the premier youth organization in the communities we serve.

Goals

1.The NCAC aims to establish new Scouting programs throughout our region so more youth can experience the proven benefits of Scouting.
2.The NCAC aims to implement a far-reaching strategic plan that will lay the foundation for the next 25 years of Scouting.
3.The NCAC seeks to reach out to community partners to develop ways to increase our service.
