During the pandemic, our food distribution and community meals programs were modified to meet the increased demand; triple number of people seeking nutritional support.


How this organization adapted to changing conditions caused by COVID-19:

Our food pantry became pre-packed boxed of food instead of allowing clients to shop for food. Hygiene, PPE and cleaning products were added to the boxes. The community meals were served as to-go instead of allowing guests to enter for meals for the safety of or residents.


Innovations the organization intends to continue permanently after the pandemic:

We plan to continue to provide hygiene, PPE and cleaning products to anyone in need as we found this closed a gap in services. We will offer take-out meals to those who desire this to ensure anyone in need of a meal is fed. Many are not comfortable coming into the cafeteria to eat due to mental illness, social anxiety or other factors. We have found serving to-go meals allows for one on one conversations with individuals which are crucial to helping those in need get connected to other resources.
