Mission

The mission of Virginia Opera is to engage, educate and excite a diverse base of audiences, volunteers and professionals through the production of quality opera performances in the Commonwealth of Virginia.<br><br>Virginia Opera has a 46-year history of producing mainstage operas, vibrant school productions, public concerts, and engaging lecture for audiences of all ages. Our programming typically reaches 150,000 adults, families, young professionals, and K-12 students annually throughout the Commonwealth.
