Mathcounts Foundation

Mission

MATHCOUNTS provides engaging math programs for all students in grades 6-8 in U.S. schools to build confidence and improve attitudes about math and problem solving.

Vision

By 2028, MATHCOUNTS is the preeminent, nationally recognized math program that celebrates, engages and empowers middle school students to meet the opportunities and unknowns of the future. This is enabled by galvanizing financial, volunteer, coordinator, alumni and coach stability.

Goals

1.Improve the Competition Series and Club Program by adding program components for students of all ability levels and different math experiences. Increase staff efficiency and work quality by incorporating more technology solutions. Utilize data and user input to continually improve the difficulty levels and variety of MATHCOUNTS problems, games and activity sets.
2.Expand the current offerings for middle school students by creating a program for students in grades 3-5 that focuses on problem solving. Lead this initiative that involves the contributions of multiple math/education organizations.
3.Intentionally work to identify program sponsors from various industries to diversify our funding base. Ensure meaningful volunteer experiences and a sustainable volunteer pipeline by improving online communication and interaction abilities with volunteers and teachers. Assist local areas with fundraising for in-person programs.
