Vision

MLI is a project-oriented organization focused on building indigenous capacity in the developing world and is acknowledged throughout the international community for its commitment, contacts, expertise, and ability to accomplish the difficult tasks. MLI emphasizes the importance of helping countries help themselves and implements the following Mine Action and Social Impact programs: 1) providing valuable resources and training to hasten the pace of landmine clearance operations; 2) providing medical assistance & vocational training to landmine survivors; 3) linking American youth with students abroad to work together to help others; 4) supporting interethnic reconciliation by connecting children from different ethnic/religious groups and uniting them in a common cause; and 5) promoting economic empowerment for women living in war-torn countries.

Goals

1. 1.Increase the quality & quantity of mine & explosive detection dogs working in existing & new mine and explosive-contaminated countries to accelerate the pace of clearance operations.
2. 2.Retain and grow focus on humanitarian mine action and social impact efforts, through current & new programs by pursuing & building on public-private partnership opportunities.
3. 3.Grow intercultural connectivity & peacebuilding by fostering global citizenship among youth, engaging students in the landmine issue & empowering them to be part of the solution.
