Open Door Ministries, Inc.

Mission

Open Door Ministries works to serve, empower, and minister to clients in order to prevent and end hunger and homelessness through advocacy, education, housing, and coordination of services. Open Door Ministries was established in 1995, as a merger of High Point Urban Ministry and Open Door Shelter. We are one of the primary organizations in the greater High Point community that provides immediate assistance in the areas of food, housing, and emergency financial assistance to low-income, indigent, and homeless persons.

Vision

To alleviate the pain of homelessness and hunger by offering our neighbors hope and healing.

Goals

1.Implement an ongoing mobile meals program to further reach into the community to feed a higher number of people in need and continue to feed them during the pandemic in a safe way.
2.Promote advocacy, education, and action around alleviating homelessness and hunger throughout our area while providing resources to those that need a safe and caring place to start over.
3.Update our technology with new accounting, donor/fundraising, organizational software and hire new employees into key roles to further our future growth and strengthen our organization.
