Charities may submit their own pandemic responses through their nonprofit portal.
Cdh International reported being impacted by COVID-19 in the following ways:
Fundraising Capacity
Revenue
Grants Received
Balance Sheet
How COVID-19 impacted the organization's operations financially:
Our President contracted Covid and then became a Long Covid patient. This greatly affected our leadership for over 6 months and as our President also was the lead fundraiser and grant writer, it devastated our organization. Donations in 2020 struggled but survived. Donations in 2021 are 50% of what they were in previous years and we have great trouble funding programs.
How COVID-19 impacted the organization's delivery of programs:
We lost 75% of our volunteers do to burnout, being overwhelmed with childcare and working their paying jobs and because we work with a medically fragile community, the stress has been overwhelming. We went from 100 volunteers to 7 active volunteers, who had their own medical and personal issues and families to care for as well.
How this organization adapted to changing conditions caused by COVID-19:
Our office has been closed since January 2020 and all of our team has been working remotely.
Innovations the organization intends to continue permanently after the pandemic:
We created 2 new teams for patient support and fundraising that will stay in place. We have gone from 100% live telethons to pre-taped interviews and that has reduced the stress on our team. We reinstataed our weekly radio show.
