Democracy North Carolina

Mission

Democracy North Carolina is a nonpartisan organization that uses research, organizing, and advocacy to strengthen democratic structures, build power among disenfranchised communities, and inspire confidence in a transformed political process that works for all.

Vision

At Democracy North Carolina, we believe that a true democracy is possible and worth the work. Our state's democratic structures and policies are a national model, ensuring voting access and fair representation for every North Carolinian— especially the Black, brown, and low-wealth people who have been the targets of voter suppression. We envision emerging community activists, leaders, coalitions, and partners working together to strategically build power and expand voter participation.

Goals

1.Democracy NC aims to strengthen structures and policies that shape our democracy.
2.We aim to build power and expand civic participation at the local level by building communities’ capacity to use the political process effectively.
3.We also strive to advance the belief that real democracy is both possible and worth the work.
