Chicago Police Memorial Foundation

Mission

The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation is dedicated to honoring the lives of our fallen heroes. The Foundation provides support and assistance to the families of Chicago police officers who are killed or catastrophically injured in the line of duty. Established in 2004, the Foundation strengthens the relationship between the Chicago Police, its business and civic leaders and its citizenry. It allows us to express our gratitude to the fallen officers' families for the ultimate sacrifice of their loved one.

Goals

1.Continue to provide support for families of fallen and catastrophically injured officers, including educational support for their children. Officers are being killed and injured at an alarming rate, and they leave behind families in need.
2.Continue to provide protective equipment to Chicago's officers, specifically bulletproof vests, through the Get Behind the Ves initiative. The need for effective body armor is significant, and gunfire remains the leading primary cause for line-of -duty law enforcement deaths nationwide.
3.Enhance assistance to the Chicago Police Department by providing overall wellness initiatives, opportunities and services to CPD officers. Law enforcement officers experience vicarious trauma and moral injury at an alarming rate. They need effective tools and outlets to process these challenging incidents.
