Vision

Our vision is that LGBTQ+ young people and allies feel empowered to find their places in their families, in their communities, and in the world.

Goals

1. 1.WAF launched our Mental Health Assistance Program to address the urgent mental health needs of LGBTQ+ youth. We plan to build on this program's success in the SC Lowcountry by scaling our therapy and support group programs across the entire state of South Carolina. Through our therapy program, we contract with affirming therapists to provide individual therapy to LGBTQ+ youth.
2. 2.WAF's core programs include our Mental Health Assistance Program (MHAP); a Gender-Sexuality Alliance (GSA) support program; grassroots community organizing for and by LGBTQ+ youth; an evidence-based cultural competency training program; a microgrant program for trans and gender nonconforming individuals called the Trans Love Fund; and a social enterprise called Closet Case Thrift Store.
3. 3.To enhance the overall capacity of WAF by strategically investing in financial management, technical infrastructure, and leadership development. This includes improving financial sustainability through diversified revenue streams, optimizing operational efficiency with upgraded technology systems, and strengthening our management team through targeted training and professional development.
