Travelers Aid of Metropolitan Atlanta Inc. (dba Hope Atlanta)

Mission

Founded in 1900 as part of the Travelers Aid Movement, HOPE Atlanta is one of the oldest, largest, and most comprehensive providers of housing services to low-income, vulnerable people in the greater Atlanta area. As part of the organization’s mission to prevent and end homelessness by empowering clients to achieve stability and self-sufficiency, HOPE Atlanta offers prevention services, street outreach, emergency shelter solutions, rapid re-housing and permanent supportive housing with specialized programs dedicated to helping veterans and those who are HIV+ or living with AIDS. In 2021, HOPE Atlanta combined programs, services, and operations with Action Ministries, a similar metro-Atlanta based organization with large scale hunger programs. Today, the combined organization serves approximately 7,500 people annually and provides more than one-half million pounds of food assistance as it works to assist those who are living in subsistence to move to stability and self-sufficiency.
