DEDICATED TO ENDING THE CYCLE OF DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE IN WAKE COUNTY, NC. INTERACT IS A PRIVATE, NONPROFIT AGENCY THAT SAVES LIVES, REBUILDS LIVES, AND SECURES SAFER FUTURES FOR VICTIMS, SURVIVORS, AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE AGENCY OPERATES 24-HOUR/7 DAYS PER WEEK CRISIS LINES, GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING, BILINGUAL COUNSELING, SPECIALIZED CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMING, CASE MANAGEMENT, COURT ADVOCACY AND HOUSING COUNSELING AND PLACEMENT. INTERACT ALSO OPERATES WAKE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA'S ONLY EMERGENCY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER PROGRAM FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN, AND NORTH CAROLINA'S FIRST COMMUNITY-BASED SEXUAL ASSAULT FORENSIC EXAMINATION CENTER. A community free from domestic and sexual violence where healthy relationships prosper and where everyone has the right to be safe and empowered.
Goals
- 1.Implement technological upgrades will enable InterAct to attract and engage new donors and volunteers, steward faithful donors, make an impact on private foundations and corporations, and enable staff to stay at the forefront of fundraising technology, all as a means of adapting to the changing government grants landscape.
- 2.Continue as the only resource in Wake County for sexual assault forensic exams outside of a busy emergency room and support programs outside of Wake County by training sexual assault nurse examiners to serve rural areas with little or no access to those services.
- 3.Continue to work with clients to develop a plan for safety, permanent housing, and the resources to support an independent life. In response to growing need, we are expanding our therapeutic services network, our housing work, and our financial literacy training.
