Goals
- 1.NC Black Rep produces the largest International Black Theater Festival in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Our goal is to keep expanding the Festivial each year. We took a significant hit after COVID and have been recovering since. Last year's festival in Winston-Salem drew over 60,000 attendees and generated a significant economic impact of more than $10 million.
- 2.IBTF is unique because our Artistic Director is always seeking new talent to bring fresh ideas to make the trip to NC worthwhile. We are accepting submissions early to evaluate which productions are worth getting to the festival and which truly scream 'Black Excellence'.
- 3.NC Black Rep is a small nonprofit organization with five staff members who also serve as the festival staff. We could not do any of this without our amazing volunteers. Over the years, we have had approximately 1,000 volunteers from all over the world who have come together to make this possible. We are looking to expand our capacity and transition into the digital world.
