ACF helps to lead the annual South Alabama Nonprofit Summit professional development for the nonprofit sector. We always use electronic evaluation forms and then the steering committee meets following the Summit to make improvements for the following year.

Here are the responses for each field: - ACF leads the Inter-Agency Coastal Regulations program which is quarterly meetings of public, private, and nonprofit sector representatives. - ACF leads the annual Sustainability Summit and bi-annual Wetland Compliance Workshops. - ACF leads and participates in the annual South Alabama Nonprofit Summit. - ACF leads and participates in the South Alabama Coalition of nonprofits. - ACF has a robust social media presence using Facebook, Instagram and Twitter platforms. - ACF works with local, state, and federal officials to advocate on good policies including helping to establish Alabama's Underwater Forest as part of the National Marine Sanctuary System.
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
With the pandemic, ACF still allows our employees to tele-work and we allow Board members to join meetings virtually. Also, we changed our Coastal Kids Quiz to an online format which has allowed that program to expand. In addition, we made inroads to approving federal legislation to protect Alabama's Underwater Forest as part of the National Marine Sanctuary System. The external change for which we had to adapt for that last item was to keep that effort non-partisan in the hyper-partisan times in which we live.
