Vision

Georgia Native Plant Society is growing a better landscape for Georgia. We are taking actions to educate Georgians and working with our chapters and partners to make native plants more accessible to the public. We envision a landscape in Georgia that is not dominated by invasive, exotic plants, but rather the native plants that evolved to thrive here to support our ecosystems and wildlife.

Goals

1. 1.To expand our plant rescue program that rehomes native plants from properties that are being prepared for new development and construction. Our goal is for all 9 of our chapters to have an active program.
2. 2.GNPS is developing a new self-paced Educational Pathway online platform that will guide people in learning about native plants - everything from identification to landscaping. The purpose is to provide a low-cost (free to members) and convenient way to direct constituents in their personal learning about Georgia's native plants and habitats. This project should launch sometime in 2025.
3. 3.Our organization has 9 chapter affiliates that work in partnership with us to provide local programs and activities critical to our mission. Our goal in 2025 is to develop and implement training for running a chapter as well as hold live training sessions for our plant rescue and restoration programs.
