1.Create a legacy fund quasi endowment fund that will grow and allow the Co-Op to operate for years to come. We started in June of 2025 and ended the year with $150,000 held in investments with the Athens Community Foundation. The Friends of the Co-Op fund will continue to be funded by memorial/in honor of gifts and specific requests from donors.
2.Work towards a succession plan for our staff & ED. A staff restructure was done in 2026 that allowed us to bring on an Associate Dir. This position will be trained to step in as ED when needed. This ensures continuity in our mission, programs, & leadership. FT employees were also offered benefits in 2026. This ensures we have quality staff & retention remains high.
3.Work towards changing our name to include the Dacula area which we also service. Our strategic team identified this need at the end of 2025. In July of 2026, a focus group is meeting to discuss the new name possibilities and how to move forward with a goal to implement in 2027.
