Mission
Viver Brasil (VB) honors Brazil's African legacy through contemporary dance theater by utilizing Afro-Brazilian dance and music in performance, arts education, community engagement and cultural exchange programs. With an arts base grounded in rigorous historico-cultural research, dialogue and exchange with current arts & culture masters, VB conveys contemporary representations of Afro-Brazilian dance that address 21st century issues of ancestry, humanity, race, and social equity.
Vision
Viver Brasil envisions a future where Brazil's African legacy thrives and is celebrated and embraced worldwide. Through the transformative power of contemporary dance theater, we manifest Afro-Brazilian rhythms and movements into a universal language that transcends borders and language. Our performances, arts education initiatives, community engagements, and cultural exchanges become catalysts for forging connections, fostering understanding, and promoting unity. By intertwining our artistic expressions with profound historico-cultural insights and ongoing dialogues with visionary arts and cultural leaders, VB hopes to become a beacon of progressive representation. Our visionary choreographies and narratives not only pay homage to Afro-Brazilian heritage but also serve as mirrors reflecting the vital conversations of the 21st century—embracing the essence of lineage, humanity, race, and societal equity.

- 1.EXPAND PROGRAMMING & AUDIENCES Create tiers of access & pricing for programming Create timeline & prioritize activities based on available resources Invest in technology services, equipment & software
- 2.BUILD BOARD & STAFF CAPACITY Grow Board w/ a set term length, replacement strategy, & sub-committees Create job descriptions for current & future positions Create annual evaluation & audition process
- 3.INCREASE FINANCIAL GROWTH, SUSTAINABILITY, & EFFICIENCY Attain accounting & taxation firm Develop financial model & plan Identify & execute new business opportunities Find & onboard a Board Treasurer
