Mission

At South America Mission, we remain committed to seeing the Church of Jesus Christ multiplied and communities transformed by embodying the Kingdom of God. We rejoice in the progress of the Gospel, a result of the faithfulness of those who have gone before. Some have even laid down their lives. Hundreds serve alongside us today. Many continue to serve with joy after their retirement. Through it all, our zeal for God’s glory remains steadfast. Today, that zeal translates into visible form through our missionaries and partners. Together, we actively share the Gospel, reproduce authentic disciples of Jesus, plant churches, train leaders, and enable transformational initiatives. Our work flows from what we believe about God and His creation. As an interdenominational Christian mission organization, missionaries come from diverse, evangelical denominational backgrounds and serve together in biblical unity.

Goals

1.Of the 620 million people living in Latin America, 81% reside in cities, making it the most urbanized region in the world. As urban areas grow, so do the challenges and opportunities to bring the Gospel. At SAM, we respond to this growth by sharing Christ’s love and addressing spiritual and physical needs. Our work extends across six major urban areas, each with populations exceeding one million.
2.Healthy churches need strong, godly leaders. That’s why we focus on equipping pastors, teachers, and community leaders through Bible-based training, church networks, and mentorship. Our heart is to see leaders across Latin America empowered to transform their communities with the Gospel.
3.We believe in the power of the local church. South America Mission works alongside national leaders to multiply and nurture gospel-centered churches. We believe the Church thrives when it’s rooted in its local context. We come alongside these churches as they grow and fulfill God’s mission in their communities.
