What are this organization’s external mobilizaton efforts?
At United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties (UWLS), we currently have 18 funded partner organizations in our area. These organizations address issues of education, income, and health in our communities and receive grants from UWLS to that end. Executives within UWLS serve on the boards of multiple community organizations such as the Lake County EFSP Board and Sumter CAP. Our programs collaborate with other nonprofit organizations in our area, such as Habitat for Humanity and the Salvation Army, to provide referrals and to give our clients the full range of services available to them. Throughout the year, we use multiple marketing strategies, such as social media marketing and community events to raise awareness, to spread the word about all of the services that we provide.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
So many stories, so many ups, some downs, many a belly laugh meeting that was intended to be soooo serious, filled our last year. Somedays we needed to vent, somedays were all business, and on all days, we looked after each others, brought laughs (or cupcakes) when needed, and doled out hugs when regulations didn’t prevent them. The key story in our experiences this past year is also found in our Annual Report in which the moral remains, a team that plays together stays together, as well as the work must get done, why shouldn’t it also be fun.
