Mission

Bread of the Mighty Food Bank is a private non-profit organization that was founded in 1987. We collect, sort, store and distribute donated food and basic essentials to more than 190 non-profit partner agencies such as food pantries, homeless shelters and other feeding organizations who directly feed the hungry. We serve 5 North Central Florida Counties- Alachua, Dixie, Gilchrist, Lafayette, and Levy. We are a Partner Distribution Organization under Feeding America. An increasing amount of our donated food is fresh and perishable and cannot sit in the distribution center for too long; therefore, we established the Food on the Move program to be sure the food reaches those in need quickly. Every $1.00 donated can provide up to 10 meals to those in need.
