Big Cat Rescue

Mission

Our Mission since 1992 has been to provide the best home we can for the cats in our care, end abuse of big cats in captivity, and prevent extinction of big cats in the wild. After leading the successful effort to pass the Big Cat Public Safety Act in 2022 which we feel ended 90% of the mistreatment of captive big cats in the United States, our emphasis has shifted much more to avoiding extinction of wild big cats.

Vision

Our vision is a world where no big cats are kept in cages and where all 40+ species of wild cats thrive and are able to fulfill the critical role they play as predators in maintaining the balance of nature that is required to have healthy ecosystems.

Goals

We do this by carefully assessing projects around the world devoted to reducing threats to the cats and providing funding to the most deserving of those projects.
