    United Way Suncoast

    Mission

United Way Suncoast mobilizes communities to action for all. With a focus on Educational Opportunity, Financial Security and Community Resiliency, we work every day to create an interconnected path that empowers individuals with the Freedom to Rise and the ability to create the life they envision for themselves. Educational Opportunity ensures access for all to quality early learning, reduces barriers to grade-level reading, and supports college and career readiness programs. Financial Security ensures that ALICE households have access to financial services and workforce development initiatives that lead to a family sustaining wage and light a path to long-term economic mobility. Through our own initiatives and our annual multi-million dollar investment in more than 80 nonprofit partners, we empower people. We do a lot, but we do so to give families and communities the ability to create the lives they imagine for themselves. Community Resiliency encompasses capacity building and disaster resiliency. Capacity building leverages our expertise to support, enhance and invest in our nonprofit partners. Disaster resiliency is our commitment to proactive preparation and response to disasters and emerging challenges. Since 1924, the presence of United Way in the Suncoast region of West Central Florida has grown and combined into what is now United Way Suncoast, serving DeSoto, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas, and Sarasota counties.
