Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue

Mission

Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue facilitates the rescue of draft and draft cross horses from slaughter, abuse, and neglect. Gentle Giants houses over 150 beautiful, adoptable horses ready to start their new lives! Gentle Giants serves to protect some of the rarest breeds of horses. Draft horses comprise less than 1% of the overall general equine population, yet are grossly overrepresented in horse slaughter- comprising up to 6% of horses butchered for human consumption. <br><br>Each new arrival enters our rehabilitation program and receives an individualized treatment and care program. Gentle Giants addresses unique medical and farrier needs from canker to reconstructive jaw surgeries and more. With over 1,500 horses saved, Gentle Giants fights daily to protect our nation's draft horses through direct learning experiences, social media, letters, presentations, and much more.

1.To restore the funds in the cash savings account to three (3) months full operational expenses, separate and above any emergency funds and excluding funds held in escrow with FRS.
2.Expand program capacity and potential by acquiring additional contiguous acreage.
3.Decrease reliance on direct mail fundraising, and expand the scope of our fundraising through events, social media, and other inhouse efforts.
