The nonprofit organization presents evidence of strategic thinking and goal setting through sharing their most important strategic goals.
Goal One: Leading the Way in Community-Centered Animal Welfare and Pet Retention: KHS will remain our state’s largest animal adoption agency and will strengthen our programs in Louisville and across the state to keep animals healthy and in loving homes, reduce the number of unwanted animals being born, and assist with rescuing animals from disaster, cruelty, or neglect.
Goal Two: Building the Future for Kentucky’s Animals: As Kentucky's most trusted animal welfare organization, our facilities should reflect the excellence and care we provide. Through our “All In” Capital Campaign, we will work to create a new Animal & Community Campus that will meet the evolving needs of animals, our staff, and the community, and that will unite most staff on one campus.
Goal Three: Fostering a Thriving and Compassionate Team: At KHS, compassionate care is the foundation of everything we do – extending beyond the animals we serve to our staff, volunteers, donors, and the community. We will create an inclusive, supportive, and empowering environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and inspired to contribute to our mission.
