Mission

The Daniel Pitino Shelter, is committed to provide shelter, crisis intervention, support and advocacy to families affected by homelessness. The D.P.S receives its mission statement from the Prophet Isiah. "Our God says, share your bread with those who are hungry, and when you see people who have no home, give them a place to live. Give clothes to anyone who needs them and be kind to your own family. Then you will be like the morning light that comes after the darkness of night, and your sins will be forgiven. You will call upon God to help you, and God will say Here I am! Don't hurt people by lying to them. Give bread to the hungry and help those who suffer. When you do these things, your gloom will be changed to joy, and you will shine with the Brightness of God's Light,"

1.This year we are bringing in an on-site clinic for our shelter guest to utilize during their stay here. Addressing the need for primary care, and insurance needs for their transition.
2.The D.P.S is currently developing plans for a non-medical detox. to ease the strain of the emergency rooms clinics in our community. A one stop shop to dispense resources to induvial in addiction.
3.Always evaluating our existing core programs to maximize efficiency. Constantly looking at how we can ad funding, and resources to improve our outreach and impact to what we are currently engaging in
