Along the Way Inc.
Mission
Our mission is to provide community, acceptance, and hope through family programs and services that help parents achieve their potential. We do this primarily by supporting the economic mobility of low-income families by filling their childcare and social care gaps so they can re-enter and stay in the workforce and/or complete education/training programs that lead to increased earning potential and long-term economic stability.
Vision
We believe every person has inherent dignity & that healthy families are the foundation of a healthy society. We are committed to strengthening the care economy and accelerating equity through community, acceptance, and hope, by driving trauma-informed solutions that empower participants to break cycles, and that are easily adopted by organizations, institutions, and employers. Our philosophy is that change happens over time and in the context of healthy relationships. We leverage the power of technology to maximize the efficiency of our resources, to ensure adequate time for building strong stakeholder relationships and the authentic connections necessary to effect lasting change. Using this approach, we’ve innovated solutions to some of the most persistent social problems, like poverty in single-parent-led households and the lack of safe, reliable childcare for working families.
Goals
- 1.To contribute to strong and resilient local economies We are working to achieve this goal by strategically scaling our childcare service that fills gaps during non-traditional hours to support low-income workers in re-entering the workforce, sustaining participation in the workforce, and completing training/certification programs that lead to increased earning potential and long-term stability.
- 2.To Develop & Execute interventions that are rooted in historical & cultural understanding and that target the effects of interacting systems and institutions. To implement a B2B employer-subsidized in-home childcare model to support shift workers. Employers contribute to the cost of childcare to retain staff, while investing in under-resourced populations with this powerful DEI initiative.
- 3.Increase organizational capacity We've significantly invested in our organizational capacity, leveraging technology to grow and scale our impact. One example is custom mobile application development to scale our backup childcare and nontraditional hours childcare throughout PA and eventually to other states.
