Lexington Philharmonic Society Inc.

Mission

To foster excellence and innovation in the performance and presentation of great music; to enrich the lives of our diverse citizenry; to educate current and future audiences and to bring distinction to our community through the orchestra’s presence and standing.

Vision

LexPhil believes in the transformative power of live orchestral music and envisions a culture of curiosity for the creation and performance of great music and the essential role it plays in a vibrant community and education system.

Goals

1.LexPhil will broaden access to its existing concerts, school programs, and community learning offerings so more people across central Kentucky can experience live orchestral music. This goal builds on current programming and supports the mission to enrich lives, educate audiences, and serve the wider community through music.
2.LexPhil will prioritize its core mission-driven work in orchestral performance, music education, and community engagement, while evaluating and scaling back activities that do not contribute as directly to impact. This focus will help align staff time, funding, and partnerships with the programs that best advance artistic excellence, learning, and access.
3.LexPhil will strengthen the financial, operational, and leadership capacity needed to sustain artistic and educational work over time. This includes building contributed support, reinforcing internal systems, and aligning resources with mission so the organization can deliver programs consistently and effectively.
