    Appalachia Service Project Inc.

    Mission

Appalachia Service Project (ASP) is a Christian ministry, open to all people, that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair and replacement in Central Appalachia. We envision the eradication of substandard housing in Central Appalachia and the transformation of everyone who comes in contact with this ministry. Each year, nearly 15,000 volunteers repair or replace homes for more than 350 low-income families in rural areas of Central Appalachia. Our goal is to make homes warmer, safer, and drier for families in need while offering transformational experiences to families, volunteers, and staff alike. Since our founding in 1969, more than 461,138 volunteers from across the nation have repaired or replaced 19,943 homes. Appalachia Service Project serves the mountainous Central Appalachian region where Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia come together.
