Mission

The mission of the Metal Museum is to preserve, promote, and advance the art and craft of fine metalwork. This mission is achieved through four interrelated program areas - exhibitions, collections, studio practice, and community education and engagement.

Vision

As the international center for metal arts, the Metal Museum envisions inspiring creativity among all.

Goals

1.Preserve: Develop a diverse collection of American metalwork; provide quality care for artworks and artifacts at the Museum; and maintain financial and programmatic stability.
2.Promote: Lead the country in exhibiting fine metalwork in a variety of materials and processes; foster learning and skill development through education; develop audience to gain greater recognition.
3.Advance: Complete capital campaign and transition to new facility by FY25; nurture emerging metalsmiths by providing opportunities to train, network, and exhibit; and implement DEAI initiatives.
