Our charity work is overseas, mostly in Africa. The COVID 19 pandemic affected those we partner with drastically. With their limited income and access to medical care, the affects were devastating. Also, we were not able to hold our annual fundraising benefit in the US, but thankfully through technology and the generosity of our donors, some help was able to be distributed.
The COVID 19 pandemic affected our program offerings not only financially, but also relationally. Due to the bans on travel, none of our normal scheduled trips could be arranged. Our US staff members could not visit, teach, or encourage our partners like they are used to. Face to face ministry is a key component to our organization. Some of our African partners do not have access to technology, so ZOOM and the like could not be utilized. The need for in-person interaction is mutually essential to our African partners as well as our US staff. We greatly look forward to our reunion!
We like many other organizations became ever more dependent on technology. We are thankful to be able to use technology as a tool to communicate with our donors in the US. We depended heavily on those in Africa who do have access to technology to verbally communicate our plans and goals to the rest of our partners in Africa. Currently, like other organizations, we are experiencing the difficulties with shipping. Though we have necessary items to be shipped, the cost and time to do so is making it very difficult.
Who and what we believe in will never change. Innovative? Maybe not. But the vision, principles, and programs our organization has established has stood the test of time. There isn't any difficult circumstance that can stop our mission.

International Christian Ministries was launched in 1986 to meet the growing need for discipleship in Kenya. The focus of the ministry has always been the training, equipping and discipling of leaders to serve the church and fulfill the Great Commission. Over the years the model evolved to include two main avenues for developing Christian leaders: the Christian Leadership Institute (CLI) and Africa Theological Seminary (ATS). Both of these programs focus on providing quality training with aim of discipling participants. Currently ICM is registered in 12 countries and works in over 20 countries.

ICM exists to train equip leaders. Leadership governs how we use our time, talents, and treasures. Our programs target leaders in the church, business, and community. Each country that ICM is affiliated with could offer evidence of these. Burundi is just one example of many. Each country has it's own board, constitution, and staff. United in thought but diverse in application. From organizing conferences in public sectors to seminars given within private sectors, invitations accepted by government officials as well as individual families, ICM exists to train and equip leaders.
