Tiger Haven

Mission

Established in 1991, Tiger Haven is a sanctuary and rescue facility for big cats, much like an animal shelter for dogs and house cats - except that we are a no kill facility. The cats who come here for sanctuary are given a permanent home. They are not sold, transferred or given away. They are not on exhibit to the public, and they don't work for a living. The cats here enjoy the good life, and they deserve it. Tiger Haven is situated on over 200 acres of wooded property. The cats have very large enclosures. The Tigers, Lions and Cheetah have habitats that average over 2500 sq. ft. for 1 cat with decks and natural foliage. Multiple cats have larger spaces. They have full access to these areas at all times. The climbing cats like Leopards, Jaguars and Cougars have raised decks, logs and towers to give them natural activity. A 12 foot 9 gauge perimeter fence with concrete footers and 45 degree overhang surrounds all the enclosures and living quarters, and a roadway runs between enclosures and around the perimeter fence to facilitate feeding, maintenance and security checks. The enclosures are designed for the cats that will live in them.
