We are a member of several organizations including Citygate Network, Alabama Rescue Services Association, Association of Christian Recovery Ministries, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Society for Human Resource Management, Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce, Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce, and Community Connections Nonprofit Network. Our leaders have spoken at and several staff members have attended local, state, regional and national meetings, conferences and conventions for professional development and continuing education opportunities.

Downtown Rescue Mission partners with local, state and national organizations to improve our programs and services, train our staff and volunteers, and provide the best and most resources for those who come our way for help. Our leadership team members speak at state and national conferences. Our program staff attend community connection networking events. Our marketing team strategize to communication the mission of our organization on social media, local media, community events and more.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Last year, the city of Huntsville, Alabama was voted best city to live in the nation. This, of course, has brought an influx of families and companies to this booming city. The space exploration program has reignited, the FBI plans to expand their presence to our area, and companies are popping up for defense and technology. While this is exciting for our metroplex, homelessness is increasing with the closing of homeless encampments and the lack of affordable housing. We are currently researching and developing new opportunities to help men, women and children experiencing homelessness and plan to increase our capacity to house and help those in need.
