All Faiths Food Bank Inc.
Mission
All Faiths Food Bank is the only food bank and largest hunger relief organization in Sarasota and DeSoto counties. The Food Bank was founded in 1989 by a group of individuals who, through their respective organizations, were feeding the hungry. They combined efforts to incorporate as All Faiths Food Bank, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All Faiths has been a Certified Member of the Feeding America network since 1990. Rated 4-stars by Charity Navigator, we provide millions of meals each year through robust programs and partnerships with hundreds of charitable organizations throughout the community. In addition to food distribution, All Faiths operates a roster of innovative direct service programs that not only solve the immediate problem of hunger but also strive to end hunger by helping families and individuals to gain long-term food security, enjoy better health outcomes, and achieve self-sufficiency. Our work is evidence-based and data driven. We focus on outcomes and impact, and our work is measurable. Our priority is to serve the neediest and most vulnerable first: children, seniors, veterans and those in crisis. We are determined to create – and continue to strengthen – a food system that is healthy, efficient, sustainable, and responsive to our neighbors who are struggling. Whoever might be in need – a family facing financial crisis due to an economic downturn, an older adult having a hard time making ends meet on a fixed income, a veteran experiencing challenges after years of brave service, or a child without access to free or reduced-cost meals because school is not in session – our top priority is to feed the hungry. But our dream is to end the scourge of hunger, forever – we hope you will join us in the fight!
