Vision

The Southwest Florida community had a terrible hurricane in 2022. It destroyed much of our coastline and much of our community had severe flooding, including Cape Coral. Most places were without power for at least eight days. Cape Coral was without water for at least two days. The Cape Coral Caring Center helped 100' s of people who lost everything. After this experience, our board agreed to become a Resiliency Hub. We now have whole building generator, that will be hooked up to the gas line, so we will be able to provide ice, water, non-perishable food, and prepare sandwiches in times of emergency. We will offer cooling stations, so people have a place to sit in air conditioning. As an emergency food pantry that has been helping our community for 34 years, people already know they can come to us for help in times of need.

Goals

1. 1.We want to offer as healthy as possible food and are looking for more ways to receive fresh produce.
2. 2.We are becoming a Resiliency Hub so we can be a one-stop shop in times of emergency. We have been partnering with the American Red Cross Community Adaptation Program. They have helped us in many ways so we can properly be prepared in times of emergency.
3. 3.We are looking at several new locations in order to expand our business.
