    Animal Place

    Mission

    Founded in 1989, Animal Place is one of the oldest and largest farmed animal sanctuaries in the country. Our main property is located on 600-acres in Grass Valley, California and is home to 250 rescued animals. Our second property is on 12-acres in Petaluma and is home to the Rescue & Adoption Center. Since 2010, more than 25,000 animals - mostly hens from egg farms - have been saved. Animal Place operates a residential internship program, with up to 7 animal care interns at a time. Our mission is simple - to extend compassion to other animals and create a kinder world.
