Vision

We help fulfill the mission of the federal National Trails System Act of 1968, as amended, which calls for establishing trails in both urban and rural settings for people of all ages, interests, skills, and physical abilities. The Act and our Organization promote the enjoyment and appreciation of trails while encouraging greater public access.

Goals

1. 1.Since 1996, the Society has helped fulfill key goals of the National Park Service and the 1990 Trails for All Americans Report, which envisions trails that will serve all Americans, connect the people and places of the nation, provide diverse experiences while respecting the natural and built environments, and be built through creative partnerships. This work is ongoing.
2. 2.Starting in 2024, we shall expand online information sharing services to make more people of all backgrounds aware of the Trail and what it offers to support physical and mental health, community revitalization and economic growth, and general happiness.
