Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance

Mission

At the Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance, we build long term mentor relationships between youth and caring adults. Mentors help their mentees visualize and work toward achieving their full potential. We carefully make matches according to common interests and needs. Mentors guide their mentees throughout their school years, introducing them to experiences and opportunities that specifically address their developmental needs. Upon graduating from high school, our mentees have developed a plan for their young adult lives.

We envision a community where all youth develop healthy, strong relationships and have access to experiences and opportunities that promote their growth, allowing them to reach their full potential.

Goals

1.An Environment to Thrive • Focus on maintaining locations post school consolidations • Increase hours of operations • Enhance quality of centers in alignment with School District goals
2.A larger focus on teaching life skills, such as decision making, problem solving & communication.
3.Community - bring together youth, families, mentors and partners to create a caring and supportive network.
