On Point partners with schools and communities to cultivate the strengths in youth and guide them on their path to thrive. On Point works by providing young people with the knowledge and on-going support they need to avoid risky behaviors and equips them with the skills they need to thrive. Each year, On Point reaches approximately 12,000 adolescents in Chattanooga, North Georgia and Cleveland through our holistic and multifaceted Life On Point and Think On Point programs. Since On Point's inception, the teenage pregnancy rate has decreased by 54% (per 1000 teenage girls). Excitedly, five years ago, On Point (OP) began an Individualized Development Process (IDP) to develop our staff. This process includes the following: (1) a corporate goal, based upon demonstrated need/staff assessments, which every staff complete individually and corporately, (2) a goal selected by the supervisor and employee based upon building staff's individual capacities and leadership, and (3) a goal selected by the employee to grow their strengths/leadership. OP provides cost-effective resources for the employees' IDP and the supervisor meets with the employee multiple times yearly to assess progress. The IDP culminates with a final review and discussion of potential goals for the coming year's IDP. Last year, OP's assessment of our IDP process revealed the need for a company-wide focus on design thinking/creative problem-solving. Our corporate focus on our IDP has enabled staff to receive additional training and to creatively solve issues needed for capacity!

OP partners with more than 60 local organizations to cultivate the strengths in youth and guide them on their path to thrive. OP has served on State and local task forces/committees to include the Mayor's/Superintendent's Children's Cabinet, the Community School State and Local Coalitions, the Social-Emotional Wellness Task-force, the District's Federal Programs Advisory Committee, etc. Throughout the pandemic, OP consulted and trained 40 Virtual Learning Center sites that opened their doors to serve youth who had chosen virtual learning (sites created small learning pods). OP completed a randomized trial and our outcomes were published in "The Journal for Adolescent and Family Health" in 2014. OP often presents on our work and evaluation to include the Tennessee Coordinated School Health Conference (7/23/21). OP has a robust social media/marketing presence that focuses on youth needs and resources. OP shares social-emotional wellness sessions and created an app.

OP pivoted quickly and creatively to serve students throughout the pandemic. As a result of student's social-emotional and academic needs, On Point intensified our academic wellness check-ins in synergy with our schools' requests and targeted support. At our Community School, attendance has increased, discipline issues have fallen by 50%+, and test scores are rising! While fall of 2021 was again impacted by the pandemic's closures in individual schools, On Point staff remained in contact with faculty and offered virtual programming or rescheduling. Given our Community School success, OP was requested to sign an MOU with our school district for the planning of additional Community Schools. We signed another MOU with our Bradley County School District for targeted social-emotional and academic support for students. OP's success with our Graduate OP model (bolstering graduation rates to 80%-90% among students who need intervention) remains strong with 91.48% of our 2022 cohort graduating (cohort comprised of students in grave need of additional support to graduate on track and on time). Furthermore, our district requested that OP partner to develop a social-emotional wellness model for their Faculty/Staff due to expressed need. This model serves staff/faculty in all 6 Learning Communities and will foster a positive school climate and staff/faculty/student emotional wellness. Student sessions have been delivered for many years but staff/faculty sessions began during the pandemic.
