ASYR provides professional development for its staff to continue their education to provide better management for the organization and better care to children we serve. Our Chief Development Officer recently completed a masters program in Nonprofit Administration at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. One of our other managers completed a training course in Trust Based Relational Intervention at Texas Christian University and has begun training our staff on this valuable model of parenting.

ASYR works with the Coalition of Residential Excellence to advocate for residential programs and other group foster care organization's like the Ranch. ASYR works to advance its mission by marketing with direct mail, through blogs on our website at YouthRanches.com, and sharing stories on our social media channels. Whenever we have the opportunity, ASYR participates in networking and collective impact efforts, such as Governor Asa Hutchinson's Restore Hope initiatives to fight the foster care crisis in Arkansas. ASYR is also always willing to collaborate with other nonprofit organizations as strategic partners to better care for foster children.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Because of the passage of federal legislation The Family First Prevention Services Act, in July of 2020, ASYR no longer received reimbursement for fostering children in our group home setting. ASYR's board decided that we would continue accepting referrals for foster children and serve any child in Arkansas who needs a home even without receiving reimbursement for those services. ASYR will make up the funding difference through additional fundraising and developing other streams of earned revenue.
