Guitars in the Classroom

Mission

Guitars and Ukes in the Classroom is a nonprofit dedicated to expanding the role of Music in Education by training teachers and specialists of all kinds to make, lead, and incorporate hands-on music through the power of song as a creative medium for developmental, academic, and social-emotional learning. GITC also serves students of all ages through classroom teaching artist residencies, adaptive music instruction, after school guitar and ukulele clubs, and summer enrichment programs.

Vision

We envision the time when every teacher, specialist, parent, and student has access to learning or teaching through music as a vital and integral part of developing authentic self-expression, approaching everyday learning with joy and creativity, from preschool through high school.
