Vision

The One Iowa team seeks to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ Iowans through advocacy, education, and collaboration with Iowa's health organizations and workplaces. We connect LGBTQ+ Iowans with these resources and advocate for policies that support LGTBQ+ communities.

Goals

1. 1.Improving LGBTQ+ access to healthcare: One Iowa collaborates with health coalitions, organizations, and providers to assist them in building LGBTQ+ inclusive practices. Our program team delivers training courses, resources, and policy audits to support healthcare organizations providing better care options throughout Iowa for LGBTQ+ communities.
2. 2.One Iowa runs an annual LGBTQ+ Leadership Institute. This program is designed to empower LGBTQ+ leaders in Iowa through a series of virtual and in-person classes over 5 months. Courses are geared to teaching skills of resilience, organizing, and LGBTQ+ history. Cohort members are paired with mentors who can help them reach their personal and professional growth goals.
3. 3.One Iowa is working to expand our resource offerings on our website. As our program team delivers training, we add trained healthcare providers and organizations to our resource guide. We are also working to add LGBTQ+ veteran resources, transgender health resources, and LGBTQ+ Cancer care resources.
