Limbs for Life Foundation is a global non-profit dedicated to providing fully-functional prosthetic care to individuals who cannot afford it and raising awareness of the challenges facing amputees.

Goal One: To increase number of individuals served by Limbs for Life (in the U.S.) by 3 to 5% annually from 2020 through 2025.

Goal Two: To increase capacity through the development of IT and data systems by upgrading computer hardware and developing a new inclusive data management system for clients, clinics and inventory.

In the past 18 months all staff members have attended at least one training webinar. Staff have also attended paid trainings for leadership, finance, development and fundraising.

What are this organization’s external mobilizaton efforts?

Limbs for Life partners and networks with several dozen national and global nonprofits to better serve individuals with prosthetic needs. During Limb Loss Awareness month, we participate in a joint mobility collaborative campaign with 9 other organizations, #MobilityIsNotALuxury. Goals include amplifying the voices of our constituents and bringing awareness to the limb loss/limb difference community, disability and mobility. Another collaborative is underway to aid amputees affected by the conflict in Ukraine. We manage and continue to expand our robust social media presence to raise awareness of our mission, cause and the services that we provide to assist amputees. Our staff and board leadership regularly present at state, regional and national conferences regarding the mission and work of our organization.

Over the past year, external factors have necessitated adaptive and often immediate change. For Limbs for Life, the acceptance of virtual meetings as the new office standard accelerated our plans to upgrade computers with audio, video and remote capabilities. Along with hardware upgrades, we are developing an inclusive data management system to digitize client, clinic and inventory information. Our goals for IT systems changes include: - to measure and report the effectiveness of our programs by digitizing statistical data for quick retrieval and accurate reporting - to improve the quality of service to constituents by investing more time assisting our clients and less time shuffling paperwork and data. Recent supply chain issues have deterred some corporate partners from a monthly donation of prosthetic parts. While participating in a Ukraine relief collaborative, we established another nonprofit partnership that enables us to bridge the gap in our supplies. By temporarily scaling back our distribution criteria, we are able to continue providing crucial parts to current clients as we cultivate new corporate donors. Recent supply chain issues have deterred some corporate partners from a monthly donation of prosthetic parts. While participating in a Ukraine relief collaborative, we established another nonprofit partnership that enables us to bridge the gap in our supplies. By temporarily scaling back our distribution criteria, we are able to continue providing crucial parts to current clients as we cultivate new corporate donors.
