    YMCA of Greater Houston

    Mission

    For nearly 140 years, the YMCA of Greater Houston has strengthened communities by expanding access to programs that support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Through membership and community-based initiatives, the YMCA equips families with resources that foster connection, stability, and opportunity across the Greater Houston region. As the 4th largest YMCA in the nation, the YMCA of Greater Houston serves an expansive 10,000-square-mile area across 11 counties, ensuring our impactful programs reach diverse populations and foster a sense of belonging for all. During 2025, the YMCA of Greater Houston operated 21 Membership Centers, 1 Overnight Camp, 3 Adaptive sites, 160 After-school and Early Care sites resulting in 343,616 individuals engaged through membership and programs including youth, families, older adults, and individuals with disabilities across the Greater Houston region while also awarding $11.6MM in financial assistance ensuring participation regardless of ability to pay. The YMCA partners with school districts, municipalities, apartment communities, and nonprofit organizations to extend services beyond traditional membership centers and into neighborhoods where access to structured youth programs and wellness resources is most needed.
