Manos de Cristo partners with many other non-profits, city agencies and area hospitals to provide a broad awareness of our programs. We provide referrals from other agencies and referral our clients to outside services when necessary. The Dental Center provides low-cost, emergency, restorative and preventative oral health services and education for patients who cannot afford the regular oral health care they need. Patients are charged approximately thirty percent of market rates incurred at a traditional dental office, within the same zip code. Manos is one of the very few low-cost clinics that can see patients for walk-in emergencies and also provides a full range of oral health services, including crowns, bridges, and dentures, at affordable prices.

The pandemic caused Manos de Cristo to shift its programs to better serve our patients, clients and students. • As an essential service, The Manos de Cristo Dental Center remained open to care for individuals with dental pain. Our dental staff wear personal protective equipment, examination rooms are sanitized between patients and all staff and patients are screened with temperature checks prior to entering the Dental Center. • Our Food Pantry served over 1,400 individuals a month with a week’s supply of food. We had been ordering 800 lbs. of food every other week from the Central Texas Food Bank, we began ordering 900 to 1,000 lbs. a week to keep up with the demand for food and supplies. In October 2019, the Food Pantry served 399 individuals. In October 2020, the Food Pantry served 1,427 and the need for food grew every month. • Our adult education classes were taught on-line and reached more students in a semester.
