The nonprofit organization presents evidence of strategic thinking and goal setting through sharing their most important strategic goals.
Goal One: Our in-house financial assistance has grown from health insurance premiums, medication copays, and transportation to incorporate a “menu of options.” We are now offering assistance for utilities, groceries, medical supplies, and oncology appointment copays. As local and national assistance programs end, we are filling the gaps so that no one has to choose between cancer treatment and basic needs.
Goal Two: Our social workers walk side-by-side with cancer patients, caregivers, and survivors during their entire journey in order to reduce cancer’s impact on their day-to-day well-being. To prepare for more complex health insurance navigation and financial needs, our social workers are training for two certifications: Financial Social Work and Oncology Social Work
Goal Three: Cancer Care is growing our social connection and spiritual support program through additional, year-round events, retreats, and facilitated support groups. These events are hosted in partnership with local community organizations, hospitals, and nonprofits to expand reach and impact.
