Vision

Together we aim to transform the lives of those afflicted with kidney disease and to find a cure to eradicate all forms of kidney disease.

Goals

1. 1.One of our major hospital beneficiaries has identified a new need in an underserved population and area of Dallas. The hospital determined a need for kidney health education and medical services among Hispanic and Black communities, who are disproportionately affected by kidney disease. We will fund CKD (chronic kidney disease) screenings in southern Dallas, testing 2,000 persons.
2. 2.We will increase funds to a facility that increased the number of successful kidney transplants. This institution has improved their information systems by using an integrated approach for kidney transplant coordination. We will also continue to promote community outreach and awareness to educate the public about these new developments, emphasizing the importance of kidney donations.
3. 3.We are promoting advocates by educating our membership. At membership meetings, representatives from major hospitals will present the newest information on the treatment and prevention of kidney disease. A former President of our organization has met with a state senator regarding a proposed bill to encourage kidney donations. Over 8,000 people are currently on the Texas waiting list for a kidney.
