Pacific Education Institute

Mission

To strengthen outcomes for youth and inspire the next generation of leaders by providing educators with the skills, confidence, and resources to support hands-on outdoor learning.

Vision

Community-based outdoor learning in every school as a catalyst for sustainability and justice.

Goals

1.Expand access to hands-on outdoor science education across Washington, especially in rural, remote, and historically underserved communities. Equip more educators to use local places for learning and connect more students to natural-resource career pathways.
2.Strengthen PEI’s financial sustainability and ability to measure results. Diversify funding, improve systems for tracking educator and student outcomes, and build the staff and partnerships needed to deliver consistent, high-quality programs across Washington.
3.Expand green career pathways for Washington students through YESS, career-connected courses, and partnerships with natural-resource employers. Give more young people hands-on experience, technical skills, and connections to careers in their communities.
