Mission

Founded in 1996, the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is the largest independent organization devoted to melanoma. Committed to the support of medical research in finding effective treatments and eventually a cure for melanoma, the MRF also educates patients and physicians about prevention, diagnosis and the treatment of melanoma. The MRF is an dedicated advocate for the melanoma community, helping to raise awareness of this disease and the need for a cure. 1.To increase research funding, scientific collaboration and advances in all areas of melanoma science leading to innovative new treatments and, one day, a cure for melanoma.
2.To increase education and awareness about melanoma, including the rare subtypes, it's prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
3.To be the voice of the melanoma community at the local, state and federal levels to advocate for increased research funding, prevention-focused health policies and improved access to care.
