Vision

To create a 430 mile backcountry trail through the most scenic areas of Missouri. Running from St. Louis to the Arkansas border and eventually connect with the Ozark Highlands Trail, this will create a 700 mile thru hike trail.

Goals

1. 1.Build and maintain a premier multi-use trail that showcases the beauty and diversity of Missouri’s Ozarks. Engage and empower volunteers through trail construction, maintenance, and stewardship opportunities. Work with land managers and conservation partners to plan trail expansions, improve sustainability, and protect scenic and natural resources along the trail corridor.
2. 2.Collaborate with the U.S. Forest Service, Missouri State Parks, conservation groups, and local communities to ensure consistent management and stewardship of the trail. Secure funding through grants, memberships, donations, and events to support trail construction, maintenance, and organizational growth.
3. 3.Increase public awareness of the Ozark Trail through events, guided hikes, presentations, and educational materials that promote responsible recreation and conservation ethics.
